FAQ

The following list of questions and answers will help you to find out more about Odotrack and to understand our product better.

  1. Where should I leave the unit in the vehicle ?
We recommend that you leave it in the center, on the console between the seats or on an armrest.
  2. Does the unit stay charged ?
We recommend that you always leave the unit plugged in. If the unit operates on the battery for more than 24 hours or the battery is drained and not plugged in the vehicle, it will automatically shut down and will no longer transmit. You will lose all information without being able to retrieve it.
  3. Why is there an extra button ?
This button is reserved for future use.
  4. Some trips seem incorrect - more or less mileage appears or a trip has not registered.
We have created a comfort zone within a radius of 50 km . Therefore, if the unit does not start operating immediately due to extremely cold temperatures, battery failure or because the unit is turned off, Odotrack will compensate with a linear trip starting at the last location to the present one. This trip will show a warning sign (). If you go beyond the 50 km comfort zone, you will see an error (). The user must then adjust the mileage manually. Go to your account, click on Trips. In the Action menu, you can adjust the mileage. You can also adjust the differences between the mileage registered and your odometer in the Vehicles section. (Actual odometer reading)
  5. Some trips are registered even if I did not use my vehicle.
You should always leave the ODO-10 in the car. If you take it out and walk with it or ride with it in a mode of transportation other than your motor vehicle, you will create anomalies and record invalid trips.
  6. Where can I see my mileage file ?
Go to the Log In page and enter your username and password. Click on Launch Odotrack, choose Trips.
  7. There are no trips recorded for my account.
    1. Have you activated your ODO-10 ? See the activation module.
    2. You must associate the ODO-10 to a vehicle in the ODO-10 module.
    3. Remember that there may be a 48 hour delay after your ODO-10 is activated before it becomes functional and starts to register.
    4. Go to the Trips section of your Odotrack account and make sure that the date showing in the Start Date field precedes the actual date of your trips.
    5. Ensure that the ODO-10 is not placed underneath a metallic component in your vehicle as this will interfere with satellite communication.
    6. Ensure that the device is within cellular signal range.
    7. If you are within satellite range but your ODO-10 is not synchronized, call us. To check if the synchronization is active, make sure that both screens are linked as in the picture below.
  8. Why does the ODO-10 beep at the beginning of each trip ?
ODO-10 beeps to remind you to choose between personal or business trip. If you do not press the button, it will remain in the same mode as your last trip.
  9. Is it possible to reduce the beeping sound or turn it off ?
    No
  10. When I press a button, I cannot press another one immediately after.
There is a 4 second delay between each action to limit errors.
  11. Why is one trip registered as 2 short trips ?
This may happen when you are stuck in heavy traffic and you move only a short distance in 4 minutes. It can also happen if you are going around in circles within a given area: i.e. on a highway interchange or if you are driving around in town within the same 250 meter radius.
